December Bird survey

This is the last bird survey of 2015.

The woods on my local patch are surveyed for birds each month by the wood conservation group.

Luckily this morning the rain had stopped and the sun had come out just as we started.

There were lots of birds out making the most of the sun, including a flock of 25 Lesser Red Poll, lots of Siskins and many Goldcrests.

Here is the list of species noted today

Rooks, Tree Creeper, Goldcrest, Blackbird, Green woodpecker, Redwing, Siskin, Goldfinch, Blue tit, Great tit, Song thrush, Marsh tit, Coal tit, Jay, Lesser Red Poll, Stock Dove, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jackdaw, Wood pigeon, Crow, Wren.
