If you go down to the woods today expect April showers and flowers.
The brown carpet of winter has been completely replaced by vivid green, speckled with primroses and wood anemones.
The first blossom of Spring has arrived quickly followed by the first butterflies and bees, trying their hardest to dodge the raindrops.

Beautiful photos. I saw these butterflies in my garden last Friday when the weather was dry and warm!

Thank you. I haven’t seen any butterflies since – it’s not stopped raining all week

It’s a shame. I haven’t seen any bees either.

lovely set of pictures Alex. I cant wait for a sunny day to get to the woods to take some pictures of the bluebells and other woodland flowers. We haven’t seen the sun in Cambridgeshire for nearly a week now. 😦 So it looks unlikely this weekend. x

Thanks. I know, it seems to have rained the whole of the Easter holidays, except the odd couple of hours.
